Unit for Liquid Extraction, Separation and Waste Compaction

Designed for extracting liquids from solid streams, sludge and slurries, controlled extrusion of organic fractions, and volume reduction of waste, the CPW is a versatile solution that optimizes resource recovery and material handling.

The CPW (Compactor/Press) is an advanced, compact, and robust solution specifically developed for liquid-solid separation and selective extrusion of a wide range of materials.

Its primary function is twofold: on one hand, it enables the separation and recovery of the liquid phase from solid waste, sludge or slurries; on the other, it allows gradual compression of the contaminating fraction, reducing its volume when needed.

This flexibility makes it a highly adaptable system, ideal for upstream separation in downstream processing lines.

At the core of CPW’s performance is a high-force, precisely controlled screw compression system.

Through this mechanical process, incoming material undergoes progressive compaction, facilitating the separation of the liquid component — which can then be recovered or sent to further treatment — from the solid or semi-solid residue.

The organic fraction is extruded in a controlled manner, generating a dense and homogeneous output, ideal for anaerobic digestion, composting, or the production of refuse-derived fuel (RDF). This method ensures high separation efficiency and significant volume reduction.

The CPW is designed for continuous operation, requiring minimal maintenance thanks to its sturdy construction and use of high-quality components.

The machine is entirely built using wear-resistant and mechanically durable materials (typically AISI 304/316 stainless steel for all contact surfaces), ensuring long service life even in harsh environments.

Its low energy consumption, combined with high throughput and outstanding efficiency in recovery and separation, makes it both an economically viable and environmentally sustainable choice.

Thanks to its high versatility, the CPW is used across a variety of industrial sectors and environmental applications — including liquid recovery (extraction from food waste, biomass, or industrial effluents), preparation of substrates for biological processes (through extrusion and homogenization of the organic fraction destined for anaerobic digesters or composting plants). I

t aids in concentrating wet materials for volume reduction of high-moisture waste, improving logistics and disposal cost-efficiency. It is also effective in reducing the volume of virtually any type of waste through advanced liquid separation, facilitating subsequent treatment phases.

Furthermore, it plays a valuable role in food and beverage industries for product recovery or separation of liquids from waste streams.

Available in various models and configurations, with capacities tailored to specific needs and material types, the CPW stands out as a strategic tool to boost operational performance and profitability in waste and by-product management — opening new pathways for recovery and value generation.
